FEEDING PEOPLE IN NEED

This summer, Miles Smith are raising money and awareness for #ActiveAte, a new campaign launched by FareShare, to support over 200 holiday clubs during the school holidays. These clubs offer food and fun activities to children who are at risk of being hungry when the school term ends.

FARESHARE VOLUNTEERS DAY

On Tuesday 10th April 2018, six Miles Smith employees spent the day volunteering at the FareShare London warehouse in Deptford. FareShare are the national charity fighting hunger and tackling food waste across the UK and in 2017, Miles Smith raised enough money to provide 37,917 meals for those in need.

One of the Miles Smith volunteers spoke of their experience working with FareShare:

“It is eye-opening to see how much food goes to waste in the UK, even before it hits the supermarket shelves. Having the opportunity to help organise and deliver food to local charities and community groups in need shows just how important the work that FareShare do is. I would definitely recommend volunteering at FareShare to anyone, there are 20 regional centres in different locations all over the UK, so everyone can get involved!”

For more information on FareShare, or how to volunteer, please visit their website www.fareshare.org.uk.
